Voice Rockrz (First Act)

The Challenge: To develop an interactive play experience with a toy microphone integrating fun voice changing effects with imaginative play and accessorizing.

The final product utilizes the non-contact RFID solution from Nuvoton to embed identification into each accessory and the reading capability into the microphone. The play pattern has the user "tap" the accessory to enable the voice-changing effect. Different combinations of accessories can enable different effects.

Key challenges included:

• integrating RFID into a toy-class product
• keeping the audio signal chain clean from the noise in the digital and RF circuitry
• making the antenna system in the microphone reliable for a mass manufacturing environment
